Hms Victory Perhaps the Most famous sailing ship in the UK - 2005 is the 200th anniversary of the battle of Trafalgar where Admiral Lord Nelson defeated and Combined French / Spanish Navy which was set to support Napoleon in a invasion of mainland Britain. Im not going to go in to the History of this ship here please visit http://www.hms-victory.co In honour of this we decided to build a range of Huge sailing boats The victory is the second in this range. The model comes built and assembled only requiring the raising of the masts, attachment of rigging and the installation of RC equipment and ballast The Hull is built from wood in a traditional plank on frame construction - This is then sealed and varnished - A Replica Copper sheeting effect is scored in The gun ports on the hull are marked we have a option open port and cannon set available The Masts and spars are reinforced wood. The rigging is all from strong Nylon Rope. All the Main and running rigging is easily adjustable Sails are from a heavy duty water proofed cotton and all the masts are controlled by the Radio Control Equipment Steering is by pull pull rudder set up and we in clude a easy to attach extension to give better low speed steerage Sailing With a model this big you have plenty of options Sail ( Wind Power Only) The model sails very well Taking is fairly easy and stability is excellent with added ballast The Sail Control set up is fairly simple you will need 4 channel Rc Equipment with 4 x 1/4 scale Sail servos and 2 x Hitorque standard servos The Jib Sails are fully controllable and the sail set on each mast is linked allowing 180 degrees of movement The rigging works well holding the masts and she sail very well in 10knt - 25knts winds Sail+ Power For our test models we used this option 2 large electric motor drive systems along with the sail power - The propellors are removable for display The level of detail for the model is excellent however we have taken some licence for radio control - We found that allot of smaller details could easily get damaged. The rigging is over scale size and much simplified to keep the model easy to rig and sail The main problem with a model of this size will always be transportation and storage. We have the option of a trailer which has been custom built for our 3m Hull models - This trailer will allow easy launching and retival of the boat. We include a beautiful display stand for storage of the boat If you are interested in owning one of these magnificent models then please email our specialist here |
