Hand-Launch Glider Top-class model with ailerons
The Ripper is simply an outstanding HLG, designed using the latest technology to produce a stunning new model. The fuselage consists of a white pigmented GRP pod and a precision carbon fibre tube. The large canopy moulded in clear GRP gives excellent access for installing and maintaining the radio control system.
The wing is manufactured from a moulded foam material with a very light veneer skin which gives superb torsional rigidity. We recommend that the surface should simply be sealed with wood wax to protect it from moisture. The result is an incomparably beautiful wing which is unique to this model.
The aileron lining strips and wingtips are incorporated into the wing as standard; the ailerons just have to be separated using a sharp knife or saw. Even the ducts for the servo leads are built into the wing.
The balsa V-tail is supplied factory-sanded, and is fixed to the boom by two plastic holders. The control surfaces are factory-hinged and the linkages are in place.
Overall the level of pre-fabrication is so high that construction is really quick and problem-free.
The model’s performance is characterised by a broad speed range, making the Ripper a great flyer at the slope and from a bungee as well as from a hand-launch. After a hand-launch the model effortlessly sniffs out small thermals and circles away to a great height. So responsive is the Ripper that it reacts to the slightest hint of rising air. With the MINI bungee launch system, No. 5094, the model is capable of long flights even in dull, gloomy conditions.
